C&T Design and Equipment Company is committed to a healthy work environment. We understand that measures need to be taken to help reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 and have implemented the following guidelines. These guidelines were designed according to recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
What to Do If You Are Sick or Experiencing Symptoms of COVID-19:
To limit risk to others, any employee who has a fever and is sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should not come to the office and report to their manager and HR immediately via phone call or email. If symptoms begin while at work, leave the office and report to your manager and HR immediately via phone call or email.
- Sick employees should remain home until cleared of fever, without use of medication, for at least 72 hours AND at least 10 days have passed since symptoms first began.
- If well enough to do so, employees are encouraged to work remotely when possible.
- Do not return to work without notifying manager and HR.
- A medical release may be required before you return to the office.
- All medical releases should be provided to HR and will be kept confidential.
- If the employee has tested negative and employee’s physician recommends a shorter number of days required to stay at home, employee must provide written confirmation to HR.
If any employee observes or has concern for the health of another employee, please report to HR immediately.
What to Do If You Test Positive for COVID-19:
- Any employee who is confirmed to have tested positive for COVID-19 should not come to the office and report to their manager and HR immediately via phone call or email.
- Employees who test positive must remain home in isolation for at least 10 days since symptoms first appeared AND at least 72 hours with no fever, without use of fever-reducing medication, AND symptoms have improved.
- If well enough to do so, employees are encouraged to work remotely when possible.
- Do not return to work without notifying manager and HR.
- A medical release WILL be required before you return to the office.
- All medical releases should be provided to HR and will be kept confidential.
For employees who are insured by the C&T Design and Equipment Company medical plan, Telemedicine visits will be covered the same as an in-person office.
Report Risk of Exposure:
When risk of exposure to COVID-19 is identified the employee should not come to the office and report to their manager and HR immediately via phone call or email. If risk of exposure occurs while at work, leave the office and report to your manager and HR immediately via phone call or email.
Risk of exposure includes contact with:
- Any individual experiencing symptoms of fever, cough, or respiratory illness.
- Any individual who had recent exposure to someone with confirmed symptoms.
- Any individual who tested positive or has been around someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
- Any individual who has been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19. This includes people who previously had COVID-19 and people who have taken a serologic (antibody) test and have antibodies to the virus.
What counts as close contact?
- You were within 6 feet of someone who has COVID-19 for a total of 15 minutes or more.
- You provided care at home to someone who is sick with COVID-19.
- You had direct physical contact with the person (hugged or kissed them).
- You shared eating or drinking utensils.
- They sneezed, coughed, or somehow got respiratory droplets on you.
What to Do If I Have Had a Confirmed Exposure:
- Employees that have had confirmed exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, should stay at home for 14 days after their last contact with that person.
- If the employee has tested negative and employee’s physician recommends a shorter number of days required to stay at home, employee must provide written confirmation to HR.
- Employees are encouraged to work remotely when possible.
- Do not return to the office without notifying manager and HR.
What If I Am Not Able to Work Remotely While Under Isolation or Quarantine:
While most employees will be able to work remotely when under isolation or quarantine, we understand that this may not be on option for everyone. Employees who cannot perform their jobs remotely should discuss their options with their manager. HR will inform the employee if they are eligible for paid sick leave or paid expanded family and medical leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act.
